Last Wednesday, MVGS students brought their Straw Towers construction competition to a magnificent close. After three flex days of effort and struggle, students were ready to face the ultimate test: would their towers hold a tennis ball for 30 seconds? The group with the highest tower whose work could withstand the 30-second stress of those 57 grams of fuzzy yellow weight would bring home the prize. Each campus engaged in this event, with two teams eventually being awarded the ultimate prize: bragging rights (and $5 in Daily Grind Bucks for the Middletown victors, and Chick-fil-A Cash for the Warrenton winners). Below are the successes, the failures and the funny moments.
Thank you to the students: you worked hard, and these days would not have been as fun without your work ethic and insane competitive drive.
Coming soon: seminar options, field experience report (MVGS will go on our first field experience of the 2010-2011 school year this coming Friday.), and a new feature: Your Faculty’s Favorite Websites
